A local councillor is calling for dog owners to keep control of their pets.
Carmel Brady raised the motion at the recent full meeting of Cavan County Council.
She said there a lot of good pet owners out there, but given the time of the year it's important to not allow a dog to bother livestock.
Cllr Brady said she's recieved a number of calls in relation to the issue, in particular with dogs chasing cattle.
Speaking to Northern Sound Cllr Brady said a bad situation is devestating for both farmers and pet owners.
