Cllr Shane P O'Reilly is calling for supports from Fáilte Ireland and central government for accommodation providers choosing to re-enter the tourism market.
The local councillor wants to see them returned to what they have always been there for.
Cllr O'Reilly said that in a lot of cases towns and villages are being left with no visiting accommodation. The Co Cavan councillor says that the issue of housing asylum seekers in these properties for lengthy periods must be addressed.

He said need facilities available for people that are coming and visiting the area. Cllr O'Reilly believes this is not good enough and something must be done.
