The Association of Irish Local Government recently held an event on supporting councillors on how to respond to mental health, suicide and addiction issues.
Cllr Bronagh McAree recently spoke at the training event which was held in Hotel Kilmore.
The elected representative is a senior community psychiatric nurse who has over 20 years in mental health.
The training session focused on supporting elected representatives to respond to vulnerable individuals in the community who are experiencing issues such as suicide, addiction, gambling addiction and family-related difficulties.
Cllr Bronagh McAree said it was a "privilege" to be involved in the training programme adding that she was glad to help her colleagues in anyway to support constituents with mental health issues.
