A local councillor has praised the many positive developments which are being made in Ballybay. While Cllr Seamus Coyle acknowledged the concerns of locals over vacant buildings, he noted that steps are being taken to enhance the local area.
The Fianna Fail representative highlighted works which are almost complete on the widely anticipated new fire station for Ballybay. The station will cater for areas such as Clones, Monaghan town, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross, as well as other parts in the West Ballybay direction and Co Cavan.
According to Cllr Coyle, facilities were condemned back in 1977 and it has taken a lengthy period of time to get the project to this point. Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Coyle said the completion of works will further enhance the Ballybay area and should hopefully be completed by mid-summer:
