A local councillor is calling on the Minister for Transport to engage with car manufacturers regarding the dangers caused by LED headlights.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly says these LED and Xenon headlights are leaving our roads are very dangerous.
He brought a motion to the most recent council meeting in relation to this issue. Cllr O'Reilly said that these lights are wonderful for the motorist driving these vehicles but when meeting them head on it can dazzle the motorist and potentially cause an accident.

He says there is a lack of regulation on headlights and the local councillor says that needs to be addressed. Cllr O'Reilly says this important road safety issue needs some urgency now.
