A local Sinn Féin councillor says the government is "sitting on their hands" in relation to solving the cost of living crisis.
Monaghan councillor Colm Carthy says more measures need to be put in place to help people face the increasing costs of food, rent, and utilities.
It comes as the government is being urged to extend Rent Pressure Zones beyond this year.
Last month, the CSO showed that annual consumer prices rose to 2.2% in April from 2% a month earlier.
