"Stop feeding stray cats".
That was the message from local councillor Colm Carthy at a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting.
The Sinn Féin rep says it's an issue in Carrickmacross, particularly in the Donaghmoyne Road area.

He advised that the best way to avoid having huge numbers of stray cats is to stop feeding them.
Meanwhile, a kitten in the UK needed surgery after eating 21 hair bobbins.
Five month old, Hope was found in a garden in Birmingham and is now being looked after by the local Cats Protection rescue centre.
