Garda Lisa Stevens of Bailieboro Garda Station has reminded people of the dangers and negative repercussions of dogs worrying sheep. According to Garda Stevens, dog owners are responsible for the whereabouts of their dog both night and day. If your dog is observed worrying sheep a farmer can take action in order to keep their sheep safe.
While this is a busy time of year for sheep farmers, Gardaí cannot emphasise enough how important it is to control your dogs. Speaking to Northern Sound, Garda Steven has encouraged dog owners to familiarise themselves with the control of dog acts which will be invoked if your dog is observed worrying sheep.
