Local parents are being reminded again that the deadline to apply for a place on school transport for the next academic year is tomorrow.
The Bus Eireann School Transport portal is now open for applications and payment/entering medical card details for 2026/27 school year.
Senator Robbie Gallagher wants to reiterate to parents in this region the importance of getting your child registered now.
The Monaghan senator said he and other public reps are usually contacted by many stressed out parents in September who, for whatever reason, have not registered their application and find themselves without a school bus place for the academic year ahead.
Speakking to Northern Sound, Senator Gallagher urged parents to log onto the Bus Éireann online portal and register their interest as soon as possible.
Senator Gallagher said anyone who misses the deadline puts themselves at a great disadvantage when school bus places are being allocated.
