It’s expected that Monaghan will see an outbreak of Covid-19.
Local GP Doctor Illona Duffy says it’s believed a number of people have been exposed to a person with the virus in the area.
She says people are being given the wrong advice by the HSE information line, with people who do not have symptoms being told they don’t need to isolate - despite coming into contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case.
Dr Duffy told The Joe Finnegan Show today that there needs to be clearer communication from the Government and stricter quarantine rules for people returning from “red list” countries.
She’s urged anyone with any Covid-19 symptoms or people who have been in close contact with them to self-isolate and contact their doctors.
