Gardaí in the Cavan Monaghan region have been inspecting some HGVs.
Recently in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority, two heavy goods vehicles were stopped and examined.
Both vehicles were brought to an authorised weighbridge.

One was found to be in excess of it's max weight by over 3 tonnes.
One of the tractor units has been grounded pending further investigation as regards certification and tests.
The second trailer was found to have no current cvrt in place.
