A local member of An Garda Síochana is calling on people across the region to have their valuables security marked.
Sergeant Joe Glackin who is the Crime Prevention Officer for Cavan and Monaghan is encouraging locals to get their property marked.
He said members of the public who have a quad, bicycle, trailer, strimmer or any other valuable item should get them marked with their Eircode.
By marking your property, you can make stolen items traceable should it be stolen and recovered. It also makes items less attractive to criminals in the first place.
The local member of An Garda Síochana says by marking any valuable item, it deters would be criminals.
