A local pothole campaigner has said he's not stopping his fight for Irish roads.
Martin Hannigan from Cavan, is known as the "Pothole King" for taking a stand by painting around potholes with yellow paint in an attempt to draw attention and have them fixed.
He has been campaigning since 1988, and says while he has seen a slight improvement in some places, there are a few areas neglected.
New Freedom of Information figures showed that there were 2,610 complaints made in Cavan and Monaghan about potholes from 2022-2024.
1,543 complaints were made to Monaghan County Council and 1,067 pothole complaints were made to Cavan County Council.
Nationally, 48 thousand complaints were recorded by local councils between 2022 and 2024.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, Martin said he has no intention of giving up his work.
"I'm not going to give it up. I said way back, I'll bring it to the grave with me."
