A local secular campaigner says the delivery of Relationship and Sexuality Education "should not be dominated by the Catholic Church".
No county across the Northern Sound region has a non-denominational primary school, and Monaghan man John Hamill says content delivered in these schools should be "factual and objective".
He adds that ETB schools are "often as Catholic as Catholic Schools", which "leaves no alternative" for parents.
His comments follow the submission of a Bill by the Social Democrats that would see the Department of Education set a sexual education curriculum that would be separate from any religious ethos.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr Hamill says the "ethos of a school" shouldn't play a part in the delivery of relationship and sex education:
