A local Fianna Fail TD believes the party will put a candidate forward in the presidential election.
Local minister Niamh Smyth says her party is united in believing they need a Fianna Fáil candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
She said her party takes the role of the Presidency and what it means very seriously.
