A young 17 year old teenager from Co Cavan is highlighting the benefits of volunteering.
James Harrington from Bailieboro recently finished transition year in Bailieboro Community School. Over the last year he has taken up a lot of volunteering in his local community and has seen first-hand how many hands can make light work.
James is currently a Eucharist Minister, a volunteer for the St. Patrick's Day parade, volunteers at the local GAA club bingo, volunteers at football matches and he also helps out at the Bailieboro Shamrocks Clubhouse when local drama plays are being performed. He also volunteered at the local active age group in Bailieboro for a period of time during transition year.
The young Co Cavan teenager told the Joe Finnegan Show earlier today that volunteering has offered him a great opportunity to meet people in the community. James would recommend anyone thinking of volunteering to just go for it and they would be the better for it.
