A Cavan woman is raising awarness for how beneficial apprenticeships can be.
Shauna MacDonald from Redhills, is training as an accounting technician through an apprenticeship.
Shauna undertook this after working as a book keeper and looked for ways to progress.
She says this apprenticeship has given her skills in the industry as well as a path for progression.
Shauna believes that apprenticeships need to be more widely advertised so that all kinds of people can realise what is out there.
She makes the point that it is not just trade apprenticeships anymore, and that there are opportunities in finance and office work.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, Shauna explained what she does on the course.
