A local woman has been nominated for an award recognising her work in media through the Irish Language.
Ballyjamesduff native, Rhiann Fleming has been nominated in the Réalta Óg na Bliana, (Young star of the Year) , category in Gradaim Chumarsáide an Oireachtais 2025.
She was not raised through Irish but made it her mission to learn as an adult and went on to work in different media roles, including a TV producer, translator and presenter.
She worked on Nuacht Cula4 and Anfa which are both nominated in Best Children's programme.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Rhiann explained the nominations.
