A local councillor says it's important to "get the balance right" when it comes to the upgrade of the N2 Clontibret to the border road scheme.
According to Cllr Niamh McCooey, the upgrade of the N2 Clontibret to the border scheme is "undoubtedly" one of the most significant infrastructure projects that the region has seen in many years and will bring huge benefits to the local area.
However, with this scale of a project, Cllr McCooey believes it's equally important to "get the balance right."
A public meeting was recently held at the Clontibret Community Centre, and was organised by local residents to discuss concerns around the Clontibret to the border road scheme.
Cllr McCooey says this committee will now be able to engage directly and share their voice with the N2 team in Monaghan County Council who are dealing with this project. She told Northern Sound; "I'm a firm believer that the best outcomes come with local knowledge and lived experiences."
