Gardai in Cavan Town are appealing for people to be aware of scam callers.
The plea comes after Gardai received a number of reports of groups going around to houses and businesses posing as council workers.
These scammers are offering to do tarring of drives for discounted prices.

According to Gardai, they are also demanding money even when people inform them they no longer want the work done.
Vehicles used are roadway maintenance marked vehicles.
Gardai are encouraging people to "be aware" of these scam callers and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
