Monaghan County Council is inviting expressions of interest from members of the community who wish to contribute to the safety and well-being of Co Monaghan by becoming a member of the Monaghan Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP).
This initiative brings together representatives from local authorities, An Garda Síochána, the HSE, Tusla, and community stakeholders to work collaboratively in addressing safety concerns and promote a safer Monaghan for all.
The establishment of the LCSP's nationwide is a key element of the government's community safety policy, which recognises that different localities have different challenges and needs, and therefore require bespoke approaches and interventions to help people feel secure.
Membership of the Local Community Safety Partnership will also include seven Elected Members of Monaghan County Council which is councillors, Sinead Flynn, Noel Keelan, Sean Conlon, Niamh McCooey, Raymond Aughey, Sean Gililand and Alan Johnston.
The members will have a crucial role to play in the Partnerships, not only in representing the needs and concerns of their constituents, but also in communicating the issues, priorities and interventions of the Safety Partnership to the broader council and the public.
If you want to help form the future of safer communities in Monaghan, you are encouraged to submit your expression of interest. The closing date is Friday 19th September 2025.
