A local councillor has welcomed the decision made by Monaghan County Council to hold public consultation events on the N2 Clontibret to Border Road Scheme.
A public information event will be held in Clontibret Community Centre today from 3pm to 8pm.
Other events are scheduled for the Emyvale Recreation Centre on Monday 21st July from 3pm to 8pm, and Tyholland Community Centre on Tuesday 22nd July from 3pm to 8pm.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Niamh McCooey said it's important to work with the community on this and not against them.
She believes today's event will be a great opportunity, not only for the landowners and property owners who are directly impacted by the road but everyone living within the community and surrounding areas.
