Lynda McGavigan has been appointed as the Director of Services for Cavan County Council.
Lynda joined Cavan County Council from Donegal County Council in November 2016, initially holding the role of Senior Executive Officer in Housing, then in Human Resources and Corporate Services. Lynda has held the role of Director of Service for Housing, Libraries and Cultural Services, Human Resources, and Corporate Services on an interim basis since November 2023.
Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council has hailed the appointment, saying "Lynda has been shown to be an excellent asset to Cavan County Council over the last decade, and has proved a very capable member of the senior management team he said along with the other councillors he looks forward to continuing to work with her for the betterment of the county in the future.
Chief Executive of Cavan County Council, Eoin Doyle, has also welcomed the appointment, saying "Lynda has excelled in her roles to date with Cavan County Council and is respected by everyone in the organisation and within the council chamber. Her appointment as Director of Services is a great boost to the council and its work".
