Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving two cars and a lorry outside Castleblayney. A man and a woman in their 60s were pronounced dead at the scene along the N2 at Mullaghanee.
A passenger in the second car - a woman in her 60s - was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where her condition has been described as critical. The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
