A man in his mid-20s has been arrested following the seizure of €17,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb in County Cavan.
Shortly before 10am yesterday morning, members of the Cavan Monaghan Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in the Ballinagh area.
The Search was carried out with the assistance of local gardaí and the Armed Support Unit.
Suspected cannabis herb with an estimated worth of €17,000 was discovered and seized, along with a small quantity of cocaine.
The drugs seized are subject to analysis and a man in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene.
He was detained but has since been released without charge, and a file will now be prepared for the DPP.
This seizure was made under Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
