Gardaí continue to investigate the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Friday 12th September 2025 in Batterstown, Ballivor, Co. Meath.
A male cyclist, aged in his 80’s, was discovered unresponsive, and removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Today, as part of the investigation, Gardaí arrested a man in his 40s. This male is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and can be detained for up to 24 hours. A vehicle has also been recovered.
Investigating Gardaí at Trim Garda Station continue to appeal to the public for information. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Batterstown, Ballivor, Co. Meath, between 9.30am and 10.00am on Friday 12th September 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
