Man found in possession of knife in Carrick to appear in court

A man will appear before Monaghan District Court following an incident in Carrickmacross yesterday. Gardaí responded to a report of an individual in possession of an offensive weapon on Main Street in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan at approximately 7:30pm on Sunday evening.

A male was stopped by Gardaí and found to be in possession of a knife. The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested by Gardaí and detained at a Garda station in Monaghan under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been charged and is expected to appear before Monaghan District Court this morning, Monday 28th April 2025.
