A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision on the N3 in Cavan. The incident occurred shortly after 3 am this morning. The collision, between a truck and a car, occurred on the N3 at Drumcrauve in County Cavan. According to Gardaí a male passenger, aged in his 20s, was fatally injured.
The driver of the vehicle, a woman aged in her 20s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No other injuries have been reported. The road remains closed at this time and traffic diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
