A Co Monaghan man that received 23 stitches following an accident while out running in Monaghan Town has paid tribute to local walkers and the local hospital.

While out running along the Ulster Canal Greenway yesterday morning at around 7am, Gavin got injured by a bicycle at the end of the walkway at Grahams Roundabout.

Two people out walking the Greenway Canal came to his aid and were so helpful and caring.

He was taken to Monaghan Hospital, where he says the doctors, nurses and staff were brilliant.

Gavin also paid tribute to the ambulance personal.

Speaking on the Wider View earlier, he said he would like to contact the two people who came to his aid and to thank them.
