Man questioned in relation to theft of cash from Monaghan town church

A man has been questioned in relation to the theft of a substantial sum of cash from a Monaghan town church.

On January 9th, an investigation was launched after money that was left in St Joseph's Church on Park Street was stolen.

This morning, Gardai in Monaghan confirmed that they identified a suspect and he was interviewed in relation to the theft.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
