A man in his 40s arrested in connection with the discovery of a number of attempted improvised explosive devices has been released without charge.
He was arrested on Sunday in County Monaghan on Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
The devices were found by Gardai in the North East and in the South West of the country.
The devices were discovered in a number of operations this month, one being in Castleblayney last week which resulted in an area of Muckno Street being closed for a number of hours.
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Gardai say the investigation remains ongoing.
