The Cavan Roads Policing Unit issued a number of Fixed Charge Payment Notices on the N3 earlier this morning.
Local authorities were patrolling between New Inns and Virginia, when a number of vehicles were stopped for speeding and dangerous overtaking.
According to Gardaí reports, one driver also failed a roadside drug test.

The same individual tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis.
He was arrested at the scene and taken to Bailieborough Garda Station for processing.
