Man who died in Monaghan Town fire named locally

A man who died in an apartment fire in Monaghan Town has been named locally.

73 year old Liam Doran died in the fire which occurred in the Rowntree Court area on Tuesday evening. Tributes are being paid on social media with many calling Liam a very kind man and an absolute gentleman. Mr Doran lived in Monaghan for almost 50 years and had lived at the property for a long number of years.

No other injuries were reported.
