He wished the Mealiff family well and thanked them sincerely for the great business they ran there: "Sadly the late Ross Mealiff passed on to his eternal reward more than a year ago and he has been a huge loss to his family and to the Cavan and Monaghan families. I wish the Mealiff family well and thank them sincerely for the great business they ran there. I wish the new owners well and all of us who have been regulars to the hotel for 20 years or more will always cherish the great memories and the great standards always maintained in that hotel. It will always have a fond place in the hearts and minds of all people not only from this area but who visit this area and I sincerely hope that continues."
