A Monaghan County Councillor says the Mercosur deal is
The EU is due to vote on the arrangement on Friday, which would increase trade opportunities between Europe and Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
It was announced this morning that the Government will be voting against the deal in tomorrow's vote.
Speaking to Northern Sound Cllr. Seamus Coyle said that the Mercosur agreement is something he has been raising for a number of years.
He outlined the high standards of Irish beef and other products and emphasised that is not something that should be taken for granted
He said that this is a very bad deal for Ireland and Europe.
Cllr. Coyle also encouraged Irish farmers to show up to this weekend's protest and to keep in contact with their local representatives.
