Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless TD will today visit Cavan and Monaghan ETB, meeting learners and staff at Cavan Institute, Monaghan Institute and Cavan Youthreach.
The visit, hosted by Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Niamh Smyth TD, and Brendan Smith TD, highlighted Cavan and Monaghan ETB’s vital role in delivering high-quality Further Education and Training opportunities across the region. The visit served as an opportunity for Minister Lawless to tour facilities and meet learners, staff and board members.
Those welcoming the Minister included Ms. Aprilanna Barker, Chairperson and Cllr Damien Brady, Deputy Chairperson of Cavan and Monaghan ETB’s Board, alongside the ETB’s senior management members and various FET managers and co-ordinators.
Welcoming the Minister, Dr Linda Pinkster Director of FET at CMETB said: “We are delighted to welcome Minister Lawless today. It’s a great opportunity for the Minister to see the impact of the policy and investment by his Department and SOLAS on providing clear progression pathways for learners. His visit endorses the work being done across our ETB to deliver accessible, responsive and future-focused learning opportunities.”
