The Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment says Heather Humpreys has Fine Gael's full support for the upcoming presidential election.
Peter Burke was defending the order from Fine Gael headquarters for local councillors across the country to block the nomination of possible independent candidates.
Minister Burke is emphasising that he believes Fine Gael councillors are very happy with Heather Humphreys as the party's candidate.

He is making the point that local councillors are elected under the Fine Gael banner and will support Humpreys, who he describes as an exceptional candidate.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Minister Burke explained the faith that the party has in Humphreys.
