A mobile unit to raise awareness for cancers effecting men and women was in Co. Monaghan this morning.
The Marie Keating Foundation has three purpose-built mobile information units which travel around Ireland.
It aims to bring life-saving messages of prevention and early detection to as many people as possible.
The unit was based outside of the court house this morning.
Bernice McKenna is from StayWell Connolly’s Pharmacy in Monaghan Town.
Speaking to Northern Sound, she explained how getting checked can give people some peace of mind.
Bernice said: "There's so many things that go through your head at times, 'should I look about this, what about this?'
"Maybe you've heard about somebody who has suffered from something, and you don't know what it is. Certainly, you don't want to pry too much, but you want a little bit of background so you can help them and give them a little bit of support along the way."
Laura Kiernan was the oncology nurse with the Marie Keating Foundation working in the town today.
She highlighted some of the positive cancer stories that she encounters in her day to day life.
Laura told Northern Sound: "Most people I've met today have been people who have been through a cancer, and you'd absolutely never know it by walking passed them on the street.
"What I find amazing is that there is so many people who have had a cancer treatment and gotten back to a normal life, its not always the worst outcome that you might fear at the start," she added.
