A Monaghan Councillor is before the Standards in Public Office this morning.
SIPO is holding a virtual hearing regarding an investigation into Independent Councillor Seamus Treanor.
It relates to an election leaflet published by Councillor Treanor that referenced "uncontrolled migratation" into Ireland.

The investigation is to see if there were breaches of the Code of Conduct for Councillors, and alleged contraventions of the Local Government Act.
