Monaghan councillor welcomes funding boost for family resource centres

From January 2026, the minimum core funding that will go to family resource centres will rise to €180,000.

A local councillor has welcomed a top up of funding which has been announced for family resource centres locally.

From January 2026, the minimum core funding that will go to family resource centres will rise to €180,000.

Cllr Alan Johnston said in Monaghan, Clones and Carrickmacross Family Resource Centres are receiving €20,000, while Teach na Daoine in Monaghan Town is receiving over €7,500.

The local councillor highlighted the great work that resource centres do in communities and said this funding will be very much welcomed.

Councillor Johnston says these centres are vital across the country.
