Monaghan currently under yellow rain warning

Wicklow, Dublin, Louth and Meath are under a status orange warning for rain this morning.

While, Monaghan and Kildare are under a yellow alert until 2pm this afternoon.

A warning for rain has been upgraded to orange for Wicklow, Dublin, Louth and Meath since midnight last night.

There will be persistent and heavy rain with a chance of thunderstorms until 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Widespread surface flooding is expected along with lightening damage and very difficult travelling conditions.
