A Co Monaghan woman has been nominated for a Discovery Award by the Irish Film Industry at this year's Dublin Film Festival.
Local director Taine King has been nominated for her work on the short film - Molly and the Robot.
The Dublin International Film Festival Discovery Awards are a key Irish film industry accolade for emerging talent, covering directing, writing, performance, and cinematography.
The talented director was filming in Morocco for the last two months for a Netflix TV series when she received a call about her nomination.
Taine said it was important for her to make use of the local landscape for this special project adding that in her opinion "Co Monaghan is the Killarney of the North."
The film was shot in the Lough Muckno area, which she says fed into the story as this is a historic place where she walked around when she was younger.
The short film which was set in Co Monaghan will also feature at the Dublin Film Festival this year.
Taine has encouraged locals to come along to the event: "I can't imagine doing anything else. I love being on set, I love creating stories, being with people on set and filmmakers who are in that environment. The Dublin International Film Festival is on all week and Molly and the Robot will be screened this Friday at 3:30pm at the Lighthouse Cinema.
"The Discovery Awards would then take place on Saturday and we'll be interviewed by a panel and three of the nominees will be selected."
