A Monaghan GP has advised the public to "be aware" of the "unusual rash" that is associated with Monkeypox.
Since May 2022, Ireland has so far recorded 97 cases, however Dr Illona Duffy has reassured the public that Monkeypox is nothing like Covid-19.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show, Dr Duffy revealed that the outbreak of Monkeypox in Ireland is something that "is not" spreading hard and fast, and can only be contracted through skin on skin contact.

The local GP added that symptoms such as a high temperature, headaches, swollen glands, muscle aches and a specific rash are all things to look out for:
