A Co Monaghan man is putting his best foot forward to raise essential funds for the Beaumont Hospital Foundation.
Having suffered a life threatening brain haemorrhage back in December, Alan McElroy was operated on and cared for by the Beaumont Neurosurgery team who nursed him back to health and back to his Smithboro and Roslea communities.
As a way of giving back - Alan has organised a 6km walk today, Sunday the 8th of June which willl start and end at Smithboro Community Hall.
The event is starting at 11am this morning.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Alan has encouraged people from across the region to attend today's event and support this worthy cause:
