A Carrickmacross man is running a Pop up Gaeltacht in the town as part of Seachtaine na Gaeilge.
Shane Crosby is a Gaeilgóir (gayle-gore), who is raising his children through Irish, along with his English wife.
As a teacher in Gaelscoil Éois in Clones, Shane uses the language in his everyday life, before and after work.
Last year, Shane ran a Pop up Gaeltacht that was well attended in Carrickmacross, so he is running another event this year.
It will run from 3p.m to 5p.m this Sunday in the Carrickmacross Emmetts GAA Club.
Speaking to Northern Sound ahead of Seachtaine na Gaeilge, Shane said that the language is in a really strong place in Co. Monaghan.
Shane said: "I think its in a fantastic place in this county. We have five towns in this county, and four of them have a Gaelscoil, and in Monaghan Town itself we have second level education in the medium of Irish.
"I saw some stat recently where Co. Monaghan is one of the highest percentages of Irish speakers outside of counties with Gaeltacht areas. That's a huge source of pride for me as a Monaghan man," he added.
