Blockades continued across the Northern Sound region yesterday evening, as local people protested rising costs in a number of areas.
The package of supports that was announced by the government last night.
However, speaking at a protest on the N2 in Monaghan yesterday, protestors indicated that there were greater concerns about the cost of living.
One local farmer told Northern Sound that he is “losing money.”
He also outlined that elderly people are unable to heat their homes.
The protestor said: "It's about the cost of living and there's elderly people, and even people that are working that can’t afford to heat their homes.
