Monaghan Road to close for scene testing

Diversions will be in place but motorists are asked to avoid this area and take alternative routes.

The Monaghan Road in Armagh will be closed for a number of hours from this morning.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit are due to carry out scene testing following a fatal collision that occurred in May.

The collision claimed the life of 62-year-old cyclist Paddy McDonald who was from the Castleblayney area.

The closures will be in place between approximately 10am and 2pm at the “Brootally Crossroads” which are at the junction of Brootally Road and Kilcreevy Road, and also at the Monaghan Road and Farnaloy Road junction
