A Monaghan student recently took part in Seanad na nÓg.
This is an event that brings together 60 delegates under the age of 18 from across the country.
The group gathered to discuss their priorities for Government ahead of Ireland’s EU Presidency in 2026.
Some of the priorities the young people identified include, peace and security, climate action, education, cost of living, substance misuse, children in care and equality.
Matthew McQuaid from Monaghan travelled to Leinster house for the event.
Speaking to Northern Sound he spoke about the experience he had.
