Monaghan sunflower field raises €50,000 for charity

A sunflower field in Monaghan grown in aid of two local causes has raised over €50,000.

The fundraising initiative was in aid of Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care and Braddox Hall Fund. The Sunflower field which was located in Castleshane in Co Monaghan was in full bloom for a number of weeks last month.

Bertha Wallace along with her family was behind the idea and says she is delighted to be a position, from all the support received, to give a cheque for just over €25,000 to each of the great local causes.
