Over 155,000 fines were issued last year.

37 people have died on the roads in the first 60 days of the year. 10-year-old Dylan Coady Coleman is the latest fatality after a crash in Clare on Sunday. Gardaí say a driver was fined for speeding every three and a half minutes last year. Over 155,000 fines were issued in 2023, with motorists urged to reduce their speed this National Slow-Down Day. Garda Superintendent Liam Geraghty says speed limits are "guidelines not targets."
